A state of the art ThorGuard lightning protection system is now operational at Edison Ford.
The technology in use is able to detect positive energy and set off an alarm before a lightning strike takes place, making our site safer for visitors and staff alike. This will supplement our existing lightning rods and well-trained security staff.
When lightning is detected, the system produces a 15 second long blast that is audible throughout the site. Once the danger has passed, a series of short blasts indicate the site is safe to re-open. Staff are able to check the current weather conditions at any time using a computer or mobile device.
The system has been fully tested and is enthusiastically supported by the neighboring community of Edison Park.
