In this one-week course, the students will learn about the history of the great chemist, Thomas Edison and recently the Edison & Ford Winter Estates was recognized as a National Historic Chemical Landmark. Students will learn about and see his final accomplishment, A Source for Natural Rubber, and will also learn about and make use of the scientific method as they explore the world of chemistry. Students will create many experiments with polymers, borax crystals, “density stackers,” and chemical reactions.
