The start of season is always an exciting time for Edison Ford. We have just completed restoration work to the Edison Guest House including painting the building and re-roofing, as well as work to the Edison Caretaker’s House, Little Office and Edison Main House. So the historic buildings are looking very refreshed.
We will now turn our attention to the construction of the Edison River Pavilion in the Coconut Grove with an expected completion before “summer storms” or the onset of the 2016 Inventor’s Summer Camp. We have been planning and waiting for this project for a long time. It will provide important resources for more outdoor programs, rentals, and even musical performances during the daytime operating hours and for sunset viewing.
The new exhibits in the Edison Ford Museum are receiving great reviews by visitors. By the time this goes to press, the new exhibit, Edison & Rubber: A Scientific Quest, will be open to the public. This will complete the work in the Hall of Invention which is also home to the new exhibit, Edison and Ford in Florida, as well as some quirky Edison and Ford souvenirs.
