Car Buffs Needed for Quadricycle Project

Posted by Edison Ford Winter Estates On September 10th

Automotive Curator James Moss is preparing for the exciting process of assembling a replica quadricycle for Edison Ford. Along with other Curatorial staff, James has been gathering the plans and completing engineering drawings as he begins the year-long project to build a replica of the Henry Ford 1904 original quadricycle that was the start of the Ford Automotive Legacy.

Volunteers with the following skills and equipment are asked to contact Chief Curator Mike Cosden at 239-334-7419:

  •  3-D CAD (Computer-Aided Drafting)
  • Wood Carving
  • Machining (must include access to a metal lathe and mill)

Further volunteer opportunities will continue to arise as the project progresses. If you would like to know more about the quadricycle building project, a meeting for interested volunteers will be held:

  •  Saturday, September 19th at 9:30 a.m. in the Edison Ford Museum Hall of Inventions
  • Estates Registrar Matt Andres and Automotive Curator James Moss will discuss the project
  • To attend, please RSVP by contacting Chief Curator Mike Cosden at 239-334-7419.

Thank you to our partners and for assistance from The Henry Ford, Greenfield Village and Sam Galloway Ford in Fort Myers.
