Mango Lane, Mango Pie, Mango Fruit for Sale Daily

Posted by Edison Ford Winter Estates On August 8th

The Edison and the Ford families loved their tropical fruits and mango was top of the list.

Thomas and Mina Edison created “Mango Lane” which is a line of mango trees along the white picket fence on McGregor Boulevard. Mango Lane can still be seen today and it extends through the adjacent Ford Estate (which was named “The Mangoes”).

Today, Edison Ford horticulturists are continuing the tradition and planting wonderful new varieties of mango trees in addition to the old “turpentine mango.”

Edison Ford mango fruit is for sale in the Museum Store as well as a number of different mango jams and jellies. There are also Mango trees for sale in the Garden Shoppe.

The recipe below was a favorite of the Henry and Clara Ford family.
