Posted by Edison Ford Winter Estates On July 28th

FGCU volunteers majoring in Biology are working with Edison Ford horticulture staff this summer. Their work will include plant care, propagation, and of course, working in the Garden Shoppe.

FGCU students in horticulture Katie Thomas, from Fort Myers, is a Junior at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) and is majoring in Biology with her sights set on a medical career. Laura Longa is also in her Junior year and majoring in Biology. Both are pictured working at the new entrance to the Garden Shoppe.

They are enjoying working with Debbie Hughes and Janice Schmidt in the gardens and applying their academic majors. Edison Ford is proud to have the future generations already cultivating their future here.
