With season for 2015 winding to a close, we saw a record number of visitors for the past several months. In February alone our attendance topped 41,818, which was 9,000 more than any previous February!
It has been a terrific season with many achievements, among the achievements is the on-going work of the curatorial department as they get ready to install the new Edison Rubber Project exhibit into the former Hall of Invention. Chief Curator Mike Cosden and his staff have been working with many talented consultants, as the project is completed and ready for installation this summer.
We are posting sample images and diagrams in the museum and on our website, as the excitement grows over this exciting project. Consultants in the project include architect Joyce Owens, Chemistry Professor Richard Wallace, and Frina Exhibit Design. The project will include adding rubber flooring throughout the museum which will be an appropriate material and to celebrate the work of Edison, Ford and Firestone in their rubber research here in Fort Myers.
