Edison Member & Community Crop Garden

Posted by Edison Ford Winter Estates On February 26th

community garden feb 2015     With 20 crop gardens already rented, Edison Ford staff is looking to add another 20 plots that are 4×8 and fully ready with organic soil and water nearby. Thomas Edison would be happy as he used the east garden area for all sorts of vegetable and research gardens.

Some of the gardeners are admittedly just starting out, but with the help of other gardeners and Edison Ford staff the gardens are thriving.

The crops already are yielding kale and tomatoes like in the photo, and eggplant, broccoli, cabbage and lots of different varieties of lettuces.

The public and interested gardeners are always welcome to tour the Edison Crops Garden located at the east side of the Museum near the solar field and the tall scarecrow in the white lab coat.

For more information and to reserve your plot, use the application or contact Leeanne Criswell at 239-334-7419 who oversees all program registration.
