Southwest Florida Butterfly Conference at Edison Ford

Posted by Edison Ford Winter Estates On November 11th

giantThere is still time to register for the annual conference which Edison Ford is hosting in collaboration with the University of Florida Extension Service. For more information call Debbie Hughes or Sandra Drake at 239-334-7419 or register online here.

Edison Ford planted our Butterfly Garden several years ago with the help of the Edison Garden Club, Fort Myers-Lee County Garden Council and the UF Master Gardeners. Since then the garden has  flourished and features a lovely reflecting pool with sculptured wading birds by Don Wilkins.

The Garden Shoppe also offers a variety of butterfly attracting plants year-round for purchase. Edison Ford horticulture staff is always available for questions.

This is a chance to participate in wonderful programs, enjoy a boxed lunch with friends and meet people from all over Florizebralong tylerda. The guest lecturers include noted Botanist, Roger Hammer, who will speak on butterfly gardens; Karen Finch, Sarasota butterfly authority; Sandra Baker-Hinton on butterfly release; and noted artist and writer, Elizabeth Smith will teach illustrated garden journaling.

Come for the conference or just come to enjoy the vendors and purchase and a plant.
