president report     We know that in the summer months, we have lots of visiting family groups including our Florida travelers and  international visitors. This summer, the new tours will be a “must do” for local families as well as traveling visitors.

At a glance our summer family programs include:

Sundays – Inside the Lab and Hands-on Museum Tour that includes up-close information in the Edison Botanical Research Laboratory and hands-on activities in the Museum.

Sundays & Mondays – River Cruise and Tour includes a one hour cruise of the Caloosahatchee and audio tour of the site and museum.

Tuesdays – Afternoon curator talks with visiting Curator John Kurdyla and Edison Ford Conservator of the Phonograph Collection Jim Niccum. Come listen and make music.

Thursdays – Behind-the-Scenes Tour with Edison Ford Curators inside the homes and lab.

Saturdays – Edison Ford Mucker/Young Inventor’s Tours focus on the inventions of Edison and Ford with hands-on activities for all ages.

Summer activities at Edison Ford are generally weather directed. With the improvements in the Museum and even more focus on hands-on science, there is always a way to shift the schedule to accommodate the storms. It is always good to call and speak to a staff member on the day of your visit and check out our website for options www.edisonfordwinterestates.org. Be sure to request the Student Quiz.
