Fort Myers, Florida (November 13, 2012)- Throughout the Edison & Ford Winter Estates public gardens and under the Banyan Tree, the Edison Ford Garden Shoppe will be selling unique tropical heritage plants and trees and will be joined by several dozen Florida vendors for the fifth annual “Edison Garden Market” on November 17 and 18, 2012 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Gardeners will be delighted at this one-stop shopping for unique garden items including flowering trees, unusual tropical plants and fruits, bougainvillea, orchids, roses, bromeliads, palms, cactus, herbs, bamboo, fruit, ginger and butterfly plants as well as garden items and gardening supplies.

New to the Garden Market this year is the Turkey Treasures Tent with discounts on holiday ornaments, clearance Museum Store items, garden objects and plants in need of a little TLC.

Edison Ford horticultural staff will be available to answer questions in the Garden Shoppe and Edison heritage plants and trees that have been propagated in the Edison Ford propagating nursery will be available for purchase.  In addition, the neighboring Fort Myers-Lee County Garden Council will be hosting an open house from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The event and parking are FREE to the public.  Visitors can stroll the Edison Heritage Garden, take a photo with the Thomas and Mina Edison statues and visit the Edison Ford water garden and butterfly area located in the public garden.
