Edison Ford Volunteer Lecture and Book Signing

Fort Myers, FL(November 9, 2012)- Pat Adams, editor of her grandmothers book, Memories of an Everglades Pioneer by Gertrude Petersen Winne, will speak to the Edison Ford volunteers and interested public on November 13, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates.

The lecture is free and Adams will be available for a book signing in the Edison Ford Museum Store after the meeting.  The lecture, about an early 1900s pioneer woman who lived on an island in Lake Okeechobee, is an education project of the Edison Ford Volunteers who support the site with volunteer work in tours, visitor information, curatorial activities and as Museum docents. T

The Edison Ford is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The Edison Ford is the winner of the 2009 National Stewardship Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is an official project of “Save America’s Treasures” at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a Florida Historic Landmark and a National Register Historic Site.
