Summertime Volunteer Opportunities at the Edison Ford

Posted by Edison Ford Winter Estates On June 25th

The Edison Ford volunteer program includes more than 250 dedicated volunteers who contribute their talents and labor to every department and activity at the Edison Ford.  Surprisingly, during the summer months our need for volunteers increases with more indoor activities for groups and individuals!

Currently the Edison Ford is seeking volunteers for the following positions:

  • Museum docents – demonstrate hands-on artifacts in Museum Galleries
  • Group tour docents – work with visiting groups and summer camps
  • Lab docents – provide tours of the restored Lab
  • River Cruise docents – assist with river cruises program, tours and lunch at the Royal Palm Yacht Club
  • Gardening and horticulture volunteers – work with the Garden Shoppe and in the Propagating Nursery, the orchid collection and organic vegetable  gardens
  • Office support volunteers – in the Museum, Education and Membership offices

Volunteers at Edison Ford receive training from professional staff and enjoy many benefits including FREE membership. The Edison Ford volunteer group is active socially and professionally with monthly volunteer lectures and meetings which provide an opportunity to hear guest speakers and learn more about the history, science, and arts that are reflected in the site’s legacy.
