Art in Bloom at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates: An Exhibit of Art & Floral Designs

Posted by Edison Ford Winter Estates On February 16th

Join the Edison & Ford Winter Estates on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 1 PM – 5 PM for Art in Bloom, a collaborative project of the Estates and the Fort Myers-Lee County Garden Council.

Art in Bloom combines art work with floral design. The art has been created by a talented group of artists who have displayed their work and participated in programs and classes in the Edison Creative Cottage at the historic Edison Caretaker’s House on the Edison Estate.  The work of the individual artists reflects their love of Florida as well as their interest in the Estates.  The sale of artwork benefits the education program of the Estates through scholarships for Estates summer camp and other Estates programs for children.

The following artists were inspiration for the floral designs:  Manfred Behr, Augusta Crane, Marie Dyer, Karen Flanders, Kim Hambor, Leoma Lovegrove, Bill North, Ellen Sheppard, and Southwest Florida Quilters Guild.

Floral Designers include:  Judy Gore, Lois Gressman, Debbie Hughes, Sandy Kavouras, Betty Mazzarella, Ena McGrattan, Georgia Mixon, Paula Novander, Jan Padgett, Chris Pendleton, Terry Pinck, Jean Shields, Gloria Freitas Steidinger, Winnie Stone, Marty Ward, and Nancy Wheeler.

Art in Bloom will be on exhibit in the Edison Caretaker’s House, porches and adjacent gardens.  The exhibit is Free to Estates Members, $5 for non members, and open to visitors who are touring the Edison & Ford Winter Estates.
